Sorry. I think I bought the last one that wasn't a collector's edition. Sorry about that. It really does knit small tubes, even in worsted weight. Again, if you have RSI and can't knit, this is a nice alternative. I'm amazed it really does work after horrible experiences with the Sweater machine, this little toy works!
I had this knitting machine as a kid. I never really made Barbie dresses with it, I would make the tubes as long as I could out of one skein of yarn. My dad and I even hooked up a drill to it, to use a whole skein of yarn in about a minute. Since then I had gotten rid of this, but I picked up crocheting as a hobby and bought another one of these to use to make long tubes that I braid together to make scarves. I think it's a handy little thing for $35!

Great Littile Machine.
This circular knitter actually works. The instructions are clear, and tells you at the beginning what will and won't knit well; but you can experiment. Unlike other toy knitters, this one has a tension mast, which makes all the difference--you don't have to hold the yarn. And the needles are well designed, producing no dropped stitches if don't turn the crank very fast. The designer must have been a former circular machine mechanic. Great toy! Best for folks 8 and up, and Barbie collectors.
