I have every Enchantimals doll and playset, more than 80 dolls of this size now. I can always trust Enchantimals dolls and accessories (except for the pets) to be well-made, highly-detailed, and unique. The Doll Articulation: Head turns side to side and nods slightly. Shoulders are ball joints. Hips move forward only. Knees are not articulated. Hair: Hair is the typical Enchantimals skunk hair design, white and black with one side of the head bald and painted black. The bald side of the head reveals the raised mold-ring that’s usually under the hair. Hair is straight but dented from being wrapped in a rubber band for packaging. I’m glad to see that the head is not tied to the plastic packaging with those awful plastic ties that are hard to remove from the head without accidentally snipping the hair. Face: The head is the open-mouth mold and is painted with the standard Enchantimal skunk-themed paint design. Torso: The painted-on swimsuit is purple. As usual, only the front top part of the torso has detailed paint; the rest is solid. The detail on this doll is a white sweater-like pattern with a painted-on ruffle-trim collar with a painted bow. The torso has a tiny belly button dent just under the waistline. The waist is molded, as usual, with a dented waist for the skirt elastic to sit smoothly. As always, I’m not a fan of painted-on clothes; I’d rather have complete outfits like the dolls I had when I was a kid. Having real clothes would also make it possible to have shirts that are not sleeveless; for example, this sweater-design shirt would make more sense if it were an actual sweater with long sleeves rather than being sleeveless. Clothes: The removable elastic-waist skirt is made of the typical Enchantimals thin fabric with a unique printed design. This time the design is scattered purple, white, and pink snowflakes on a pale blue background. The skirt waist is sewn with yellow thread. She has the hard-plastic fur-look accessory that many other Enchantimals have had. I’m not a fan of this overused piece; fortunately it’s removable. Shoes and Feet: The boot design is one we’ve seen in purple and in pink on some of the Enchantimals deer dolls. On this skunk doll we get this boot design in yellow. The boots are textured and are molded with laces and with a fur-look trim on top. The boots are slit down the back for easy shoe-swapping with other dolls. The doll’s feet are tippy-toe, as is customary with female Enchantimals. One constant wish for these dolls is that they’d have flat feet. I don’t like how they always look like they’re standing on tippy-toe when they’re barefoot. The Skunk Pet: The skunk is made of a hard, slightly rough-feeling plastic. As with other recent Enchantimals releases, the details on the pet are painted sloppily; the ear’s flower is a messy glop. Also, the skunk, unfortunately, has the dreaded hollowed-out hole-and-hook feature. If you’ve read my previous Enchantimals reviews, you might remember that I’m a strong advocate for removing that morbid gaping hole in the back of the pets, with the edges of the hole contorted into a hook shape. The hook is intended to make the pet clip onto the doll’s arm – for some reason. The first problem with that is that it doesn’t work; the pet swings forward and hangs like a purse made of a taxidermied animal. The second problem is that if the hook did work, what would that look like: a pet levitating in front of the doll’s arm??? It’s a face-palm-worthy fail, creepy and ridiculous. Accessories: The vanity is a recolor of the easels from last year’s Enchantimals fox art set. The plastic is molded with wood grain and flower details. The stool is also the same as the one from the fox art set, but this time there are two and they’re purple. If you are new to Enchantimals, you may be confused about the seashell theme of the small accessories. The shell compact, makeup brush, hair brush, and perfume bottle are exactly the same as the ones that came with the Enchantimals starfish vanity set; half of them are even the same color as the ones that came with the starfish set. The hairbrush is somewhat functional. The doll can hold these tiny accessories, some by putting the doll's fingers through the loop and some by putting the doll's thumb through the tiny ring. The sunglasses are the same glasses that came with the skunk drums set, but this time in purple instead of yellow.
Hermoso para regalo, el producto es original y el empaque llego perfecto.
My niece absolutely loved this. Great quality toys that come really well packaged. She loved how different it was and now has a bit of a collecting obsession. A really great gift that is reasonably priced.
