I’ve had a few miniature birdcages and the issue I have most often run into is that they usually don’t allow one to add birds! I was so pleased to find that these are the exception. At first they look identical to one I had received for review recently (and which is bird-free and tightly sealed all round), but on closer inspection, the bases come off this pair of cages so you can add our own residents and even swap them out when you update your decor! At time of review, this pair of identical black metal cages is £8.88 which strikes me as rather good value, especially given the built-in ability to customise. They are made of black coated metal and feel quite solid and not prone to bending, and have a perch inside and hook for hanging. The perch is actually attached to the hanging hook which prevents it turning sideways (another issue I have had in the past). They measure 4cm high (without hanging loop) and will make a brilliant feature in a dollhouse or other small build.
Perfect for my creative project. If they had an option for one which is twice the size would be to good to be true.

These are absolutely charming and very well-made. I originally ordered them to use as decorations for a Halloween wreath or a themed head-dress, and they are perfect for that. The black coating is smooth and even across the whole piece.Key Features & Crafter Tips:The 'Secret' Base: I was delighted to find that the base actually comes off and snaps back on seamlessly! This is brilliant because it means I can place a tiny clay bird (or a little skeleton bird for Halloween) inside on the perch.Mobile Parts: The little bird swing inside is mobile and stays attached to the hanging hook at the top.Versatile Size: They are incredibly lightweight. In fact, if your piercings allow for it, these are light enough and the hooks are smooth enough to be worn as novelty earrings!Whether you’re using them for a dollhouse or a creative craft project, the quality is excellent for the price. 5 stars.
